29th Annual Plymouth Ice Festival Starts TODAY!

The Plymouth Ice Festival will be taking place in downtown Plymouth starting today. As a result of this event there will be several road closures in the immediate downtown area. In addition, there will be several parking restrictions that will go into effect this week. The Plymouth Gathering will be closed for public parking effective today.

Drivers can expect that parking will be restricted on all sides of Kellogg Park. In addition, there will be some parking restrictions on Union Street near Penniman. The following Road Closures are anticipated to go into effect as follows:

MAIN STREET – NORTHBOUND ONLY – From Ann Arbor Trail to Penniman is anticipated to close on Thursday, January 20th starting at 5:00 p.m. This section of roadway will be closed until Monday, January 24th.

ANN ARBOR TRAIL – WESTBOUND ONLY – From Union/Deer to Main Street. This section of roadway is anticipated to be closed from THURSDAY, January 20th at 5:00 p.m. This section of roadway will be closed until Monday, January 24th.

UNION STREET – SOUTHBOUND ONLY – From Roe to Ann Arbor Trail is anticipated to be closed from Thursday, January 20th through Monday, January 24th.

FOREST AVE – From Ann Arbor Trail to Wing – This section of Roadway is anticipated to be closed starting Friday, January 21st through Monday, January 24th.

PENNIMAN AVE. – From Main Street to Union Street – This section of Penniman is expected to be closed starting at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18th through Monday, January 24th.

PENNIMAN AVE. – From Harvey Street to Main Street – This section of Roadway is anticipated to be closed starting Friday, January 21st through Monday, January 24th.

The Plymouth Ice Festival is Coming to Downtown Plymouth!

The 29th annual Plymouth Ice Festival will be arriving in Downtown Plymouth, January 21-23, 2011.
In past years the Ice Show has been known as the “Plymouth International Ice Sculpture Spectacular.” This year not only brings a new Name but a new look and many new outdoor exhibits. This show was created specifically for our appreciation and love of winter! This year the festival will feature over 100 ice sculptures, LIVE music, entertainment, family shows, and winter-themed treats. There will also be a variety of new events for all ages.
Check out the Dueling Chainsaws Speed Carving Show, Forest Ave Scavenger Hunt, Penniman Ave. Petting Farm and Pony Rides!
Many of the Downtown Plymouth Stores and businesses will be holding in-store events this year offering discounts and giveaways!

2011 Event Demonstration and Activity Dates and Times:
Friday, January 21st – 3:00pm to 11:00pm
Saturday, January 22nd – 10:00am to 11:00pm
Sunday, January 23rd – 10:00am to 6:00pm
The ice sculptures are available for viewing 24 hours a day
