Tread Tells When To Shop For New Tires

The tires are the only parts on your car that have direct contact with the road, which means they have a major effect on ride, handling, braking, and safety. For optimum performance, tires must be properly balanced and inflated, show no signs of physical damage, and have adequate tread depth. Proper inflation, regular rotation, periodic inspection and wheel alignment when needed will all contribute to maximum tire life.

(AAA Image) Car tires must be replaced when their tread wears below a certain level. However, other types of problems can result in the need for earlier replacement. If you don’t invest time and money in regular car maintenance, you risk reducing the lifespan of your tires. Also, road hazards such as potholes, rocks and debris can damage your tires. If you notice anything unusual about how your car drives after running over a hazard, AAA recommends that you take the vehicle to the nearest auto repair shop for an immediate tire inspection.

Tire problems to look for while driving
Vibration or thumping:Unusual vibrations or thumping noises can indicate an out-of-balance tire, one with tread that has a flat spot due to locking the wheels in a panic stop, or a tire with a separated belt (see below).

Pull to one side:While driving at a steady speed, a steering pull to one side may indicate an underinflated or damaged tire on that side of the car. It could also be caused by a brake system or wheel alignment problem.

Tire problems to look for during inspection
Over inflation: Too much air pressure causes mostly the tire’s middle section to contact the road. This causes increased wear in the center of the tread, with less wear at the tire’s edges.

Under inflation: Too little air pressure causes mostly the tire’s outer edges to contact the road. This causes increased wear on both edges of the tire tread, with less wear in the center.

Wear on one edge of the tread: This type of wear indicates worn suspension components or a wheel alignment problem.

Erratic tread wear: Alternating high and low spots around the tread, called cupping or scalloping, may indicate a wheel out of balance, but are more often a sign that you need to replace worn shock absorbers or other suspension components.

Sidewall cuts and tears: Impacts with road debris and curbs can damage the rubber tire sidewalls. You can usually ignore cosmetic damage, unless accompanied by a bubble or bulge (see below). However, if the cords of the tire carcass are exposed and damaged, bring your vehicle to your local auto repair shop to have the tire replaced.

Bubble or bulge: A bubble or bulge on the tire sidewall or tread indicates one of the belts inside the tire has separated from those around it. Replace any tire with this type of damage as soon as possible.

Measuring tire tread depth
Adequate tread depth is necessary for a tire to maintain traction and shed water on wet and slippery roads. You can measure tread depth with an inexpensive gauge available at any auto parts store. Alternatively, you can use the traditional quarter and penny tests.

Insert a quarter into a tread groove with the top of Washington’s head facing down. If the top of his head is not visible, your tires have at least 4/32″ of tread and are fine for continued use. If you can see above the top of Washington’s head, it is time to start shopping for new tires. Take multiple measurements across the tread to help ensure accurate results.

You perform a penny test the same way, except that if you can see above the top of Lincoln’s head your tires have less than 2/32″ of tread, which is below the legal minimum in most states and cause for immediate tire replacement. Tires worn to this level will also have visible wear indicators (thin bald strips) running from side to side across two or more tread segments.

AAA and the Automobile Club of Southern California’s Automotive Research Center tested new all-season tires and all-season tires worn to 4/32” in wet conditions. Compared to new ones, the worn tires increased stopping distances an average of 87 feet for a passenger car and 86 feet for a light truck – longer than a semi-trailer truck. Given these results, AAA suggests you put the penny in your piggy bank and instead use a quarter to check tire tread wear and determine when it is time for replacement.

Dodge is literally expanding its high-performance Charger models for 2020, adding a Widebody Package to America’s only four-door muscle car.

Powered by the proven supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Hellcat V-8 engine, the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody boasts a best-in-class 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque and delivers a top speed of 196 miles per hour (mph), maintaining its reign as the most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan in the world.

The Widebody Package, standard on Charger SRT Hellcat and available on Charger Scat Pack, includes new integrated fender flares that add 3.5 inches of body width, creating an even more aggressive, planted stance. The flares make room for the wider 20-inch by 11-inch wheels and Pirelli 305/35ZR20 tires, Brembo six-piston front calipers with two-piece front brake rotors and unique suspension tuning with Bilstein three-mode adaptive damping, all combining to deliver improved performance on the street, strip and road course.

“People say, ‘no one wants cars anymore.’ I would tell you that the 40,000 people who bought a Dodge Charger so far this year would probably agree, because to them, the Charger isn’t just a car. The Charger’s reach extends beyond body-style practicalities and it can’t be defined by average industry shifts,” said Tim Kuniskis, Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “Can you buy a vehicle that is dollar for dollar more practical than a Charger Widebody? Absolutely, but there are also more than 1,000 flavors of ice cream and vanilla is only one of them. If the ‘average’ person will own six cars in their lifetime, our cars need to connect so strongly that people can’t help, but turn around and take a second look before walking away.”

Dealers will be able to order 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody and Scat Pack Widebody models this fall. The new Charger Widebody models will start arriving in Dodge//SRT dealerships in early 2020.

Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Continues Reign as Most Powerful and Fastest Mass-produced Sedan in the World
Designed and engineered to push the boundaries of what a four-door family sedan can be, the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody is powered by the proven supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V-8 engine, which delivers a best-in-class 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque, mated to a standard TorqueFlite 8HP90 eight-speed automatic transmission. With a top speed of 196 miles per hour (mph), the Charger SRT Hellcat maintains its claim as the most powerful and fastest mass-produced sedan in the world.

The performance improvements start with a 3.5-inch wider body, which makes room for new 20-inch by 11-inch Carbon Black forged wheels riding on wider, stickier Pirelli 305/35ZR20 tires. The Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody also features an SRT-tuned Bilstein three-mode adaptive damping competition suspension, new electric power steering (EPS), stiffer springs, larger sway bars, retuned shocks, several race-inspired technologies and Brembo brakes, all designed to deliver performance numbers never before seen on a Charger.

For the first time ever, Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody now features standard EPS with selectable steering tuning to better manage increased grip, both improving handling performance and delivering better steering feel and ease of turning efforts at parking lot speeds.

  • With EPS and standard SRT Drive Modes accessed via the 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, drivers can tailor their experience by controlling horsepower, transmission shift speeds, steering, paddle shifters, traction and suspension settings
  • SRT Drive Modes offer selectable settings for Street (Auto), Sport and Track, while the Custom setting allows the driver to select individual preferences

Additional upgrades designed to improve handling include:

  • Increased front spring rates – 32 percent stiffer than previous model
  • Larger sway bars – expanding from 32 mm to 34 mm in front and from 19 mm to 22 mm in the rear
  • Retuned shocks with revised valving to complement stiffer springs

Four race-inspired technologies that come standard for 2020 also bolster performance:

  • Race Cooldown keeps cooling the supercharger/charge air cooler after the engine is shut off by running the intercooler pump and radiator fan
  • Line Lock engages the front brakes to hold the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody stationary, but leaves the rear wheels free for a burnout to heat up and clean the rear tires
  • Launch Control, easily accessed from a switch on the dashboard, manages tire slip while launching the vehicle to allow the driver to achieve consistent straight-line acceleration
  • Launch Assist uses wheel speed sensors to watch for driveline-damaging wheel hop at launch and, in milliseconds, modifies the engine torque to regain full grip

Not only does Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody go fast, it also stops shorter than the vehicle it replaces. For outstanding heat management and longevity, the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody features standard 15.4-inch Brembo two-piece front brake rotors with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers. Stopping distance is four feet shorter (107 feet) from 60-0 mph.

SRT engineers took this wider, stickier beast to the track to see what it can do. The result: improved performance on the street, strip and road course and the quickest and best-handling production Charger SRT Hellcat ever. The 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody runs 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds, has a quarter-mile elapsed time (ET) in 10.96 seconds and pulls .96 g on the skidpad. It also delivers a road course lap time 2.1 seconds faster than the vehicle it replaces after one lap of a 2.1-mile track. That is equal to 13 car lengths per lap.

Form Follows Function
Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody’s added 3.5 inches of width paired with its wider wheels and tires are unmistakably Dodge//SRT, creating an aggressive, planted stance unlike any of the other vanilla four-door sedans on the market.

New, wider wheels on Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody include:

  • Standard 20-inch by 11-inch forged split-five spoke with standard Low-gloss Carbon Black finish
  • Optional 20-inch by 11-inch “Warp Speed” deep dish, with Low-gloss Granite finish
  • Optional 20-inch by 11-inch Brass Monkey

Pirelli 305/35ZR20 all-season performance tires are standard; three-season tires are available.

Beyond its menacing stance, the newly designed front fascia on the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody includes a new mail-slot grille, providing the most direct route for cool air to travel into the radiator, to maintain ideal operating temperature even in the hottest conditions. New side sills connect the front and rear fascias to help amplify the integrated design. A new rear spoiler, unique to the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody, is designed to create aero balance with the new front-end design. New this year are two-piece Satin Chrome SRT Hellcat fender badges.

Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody Receives High-performance Interior Updates
The race-inspired interior of the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody features standard French live-stitch accents throughout the instrument panel and doors. Additional unique interior elements and soft-touch finishes refine the high-performance cabin, including:

  • Available new Carbon & Suede Package adds real carbon fiber accents to the instrument panel and console bezels and Dynamica suede headliner, sun visors and A-pillars
  • New SRT Hellcat instrument panel badge is unique for the 2020 model year with a black and red finish
  • From the driver’s seat:
    • Standard heated and ventilated Laguna leather front seats feature embossed Hellcat logo – available interior color combinations include Black, Black/Sepia or Black/Demonic Red
    • Heated, leather-wrapped SRT flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls and paddle shifters is standard or available in wrapped Alcantara
    • Fully electronic, performance-inspired shifter controls the standard TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission and gives the driver the look and feel of a traditional linkage shifter
    • Roomy center console storage compartment is designed to keep an abundance of personal items handy and within easy reach

2020 Dodge Charger Scat Pack Widebody Reaches Best Ever Levels of Performance
Following on the success of offering the Challenger R/T Scat Pack Widebody for the 2019 model year, Dodge is also making the Widebody Package available on the Charger Scat Pack for 2020.

“Since we first launched Scat Pack in 2014, the sales mix of our high-performance models has increased from four percent to more than 25 percent,” Kuniskis added. “Charger Scat Pack models deliver more muscle for the dollar than any car out there. Offering a Widebody Package on Charger Scat Pack gives us the opportunity to build on that momentum.”

This wider Scat Pack is powered by the 392-cubic-inch HEMI V-8 engine with the best-in-class naturally aspirated 485 horsepower mated to the TorqueFlite 8HP70 eight-speed transmission. It features its own upgraded specially tuned suspension with Bilstein three-mode adaptive damping, standard EPS with selectable steering tuning, and wider wheels and tires to reach unprecedented levels of lateral grip, acceleration and braking, delivering its best on-road and on-track performance levels ever.

Standard wheels on the Charger Scat Pack Widebody are 20-inch by 11-inch “Devil’s Rim” split-five spoke with Low-gloss Granite finish. Optional wheels are 20-inch by 11-inch finished in Carbon Black.

Pirelli 305/35ZR20 all-season performance tires are standard; three-season tires are available.

The superb stopping power of the Charger Scat Pack Widebody comes from the standard SRT-engineered Brembo braking system with two-piece 15.4-inch front brake rotors with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers. Stopping distance is 107 feet, three feet shorter than the non-Widebody Scat Pack from 60-0 mph.

Suspension upgrades for the 2020 Charger Scat Pack Widebody include:

  • Modified springs, sway bars and shocks
  • Increased front spring rates are 27 percent stiffer
  • Larger rear sway bar, expanding from 19 mm to 22 mm
  • Revised damper calibration to match suspension tuning revisions

Launch Control, Launch Assist and Line Lock features come standard on all Scat Pack models.

The 2020 Charger Scat Pack Widebody builds on the stellar attributes of the Scat Pack, improving street, strip and road course performance compared with the non-Widebody Charger Scat Pack. It delivers 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, a quarter-mile ET in 12.4 seconds @ 111 mph, pulls .98 g lateral grip on the skidpad, brakes 60-0 in 107 feet and finishes 1.3 seconds faster on a 2.1-mile road course, which is equal to eight car lengths per lap.

Uconnect Technology Brings SRT Performance Pages, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to Charger
As America’s only four-door muscle car, the 2020 Dodge Charger is spacious with plenty of room for a family of five and loaded with high-tech features that are easily accessible through the available class-exclusive Uconnect 4C system.

SRT Performance Pages bring critical vehicle performance data to the driver’s fingertips, including real-time engine data, such as horsepower, torque, oil pressure and dyno graph; various vehicle dynamics measurements, including a g-force heat map, a wide variety of vehicle gauges and performance driving timers.

Dodge Teases All-New Charger SRT HELLCAT Widebody…

Over the weekend, we told you that according to our sources that the all-new 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody was going to be making its first debut in the upcoming weeks. This morning, Dodge just confirmed we were right with a new teaser video of the all-new 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody on their social media platforms with the text “coming soon” at the end of the video.

2020 Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT Widebody Teaser. (Dodge).

While we can’t tell you if it’s a standard Charger SRT HELLCAT Widebody or the ultra high-performance Charger SRT HELLCAT Redeye Widebody, we can say we are very confident that this is the same B5 Blue Charger SRT HELLCAT Widebody that was caught shooting a commercial in California back in April.

According to our sources, Dodge will be releasing three Widebody models for the 2020 model year Dodge Charger lineup. The Charger lineup will mimic the 2019 Dodge Challenger performance lineup, with the introduction of a 485 horsepower Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack Widebody, a 717 horsepower Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT Widebody, and a 797 horsepower Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT Redeye Widebody. While we do know the Widebody models will get unique front and rear fascias, the HELLCAT and HELLCAT Redeye models will receive an all-new hood design for the new model year. The R/T Scat Pack Widebody and non-Widebody models will be getting the current HELLCAT hood with heat extractors that the Charger SRT HELLCAT has had since to 2015, as standard equipment.

Charger SRT HELLCAT Redeye Design. (MoparInsiders).

We have also seen that Dodge might be giving its different Widebody models different wheel options, depending on trim through spy photos that MoparInsiders.com had obtained before anyone else.

We have been getting a lot of e-mails regarding if Dodge will build a 2020 Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT Redeyenon-Widebody model. The answer is yes! For those who aren’t a fan of the Widebody treatment, Dodge will offer non-Widebody variants of all their performance models for 2020.

As for pricing, it is a safe bet to say, that for those wishing to equip their new 2020 Dodge Charger performance model with the Widebody option that it will be similar in cost to the Challenger Widebody as a $5,000 USD premium.

2020 Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT Widebody Tester. (MoparInsiders).

But here is what we do know, the Charger SRT HELLCAT Redeye will offer two final drive ratios, a standard 2.62:1 or available 3.09:1 for enhanced launch capability. When the Challenger SRT HELLCAT Redeye made its debut last year, the additional 90 horsepower over the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT HELLCAT improved the top speed of the Challenger from 199 mph to 203 mph. Currently, the 707 horsepower 2019 Dodge Charger SRT HELLCAT has an average top speed of 204 mph and is the fastest four-door sedan in the world. But expect that to change and get about another 4 to 6 mph out of its top speed with the Redeye package.

For those who have been waiting to see that the Charger gets its fair share of upgrades like its Challenger sibling, the time is almost here. Rest assure, Dodge won’t disappoint Charger enthusiasts for the 2020 model year.  Be sure to stay tuned to MoparInsiders.com for all the latest information on the all-new 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody.

FCA continues to advance its in-vehicle technology, announcing today the launch of Uconnect Market, a new in-vehicle commerce platform that gives customers the opportunity to conveniently order food, find the nearest gas station, save money on fuel purchases and make dinner reservations, all from the comfort of their vehicles.

With the new platform, FCA owners will be able to skip lines and save time by ordering (and paying for) food and beverages, reserve a table on the way to their favorite restaurant or locate and securely authorize pump-and-pay fuel at participating locations. Drivers can also locate and pay for nearby parking and schedule service appointments at FCA US dealerships, all while in the vehicle without having to reach for a physical credit card.

“Our customers live busy lives, and our goal with the Uconnect platform is to provide an advanced portfolio of services to make their daily drive more convenient, productive and enjoyable,” said Alan D’Agostini, Global Head of Connected Services, FCA. “This is why we are launching Uconnect Market, as we continue to ramp-up our connectivity efforts around the world with the goal of having all new FCA vehicles connected by 2022.”

The lineup of brands participating in the Uconnect Market platform at launch includes Shell, Domino’s, Park Whiz and Yelp Reservations.

Uconnect Market includes the following services:

  • Wallet: When setting up a Uconnect Market account, vehicle owners can enroll a credit card for use with selected Uconnect Market partners
  • Service: Consumers will have access to national Mopar service offers, the ability to locate a certified Mopar service center and schedule service appointments
  • Fuel: Owners can view a list of nearby fuel stations and authorize a fuel pump charge at participating Shell stations by using Shell Pay & Save program
  • Food: The platform uses Yelp to display a list of nearby restaurants by category; consumers also have the option to make reservations at participating restaurants
  • Parking: Find, book and pay for parking at thousands of garages across North America through ParkWhiz, an Arrive-powered brand

Uconnect Market was developed in partnership with Seattle-based Xevo, recently acquired by Lear Corporation. The platform will deploy in the second half of 2019 via an over-the-air (OTA) update for model-year 2019 and 2020 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® and Ram brand vehicles equipped with connected services and the latest generation of 8.4-inch touchscreens, and will continue as a carryover feature for future models equipped with the 8.4-inch touchscreen.

Commitment to Connectivity
The Uconnect Market introduction follows the recent FCA announcement of a new in-vehicle “ecosystem” using HARMAN (Samsung) and Google Technologies. The new system will promptly and securely manage in-vehicle and additional data using an architecture based on the HARMAN Ignite cloud-based platform. It will also be powered by Android, offering a strong, proven and intuitive app-based environment that provides fresh content via OTA updates, fast interaction and seamless wireless integration with the customer’s mobile devices.

The key components of the new “ecosystem” will start to rollout in phases across global regions during the second half of 2019, and all new FCA vehicles will be connected by 2022.

Dodge Brand Scores Highest Ever Results In J.D. Power Awards:

The results are in. The J.D. Power Initial Quality Awards results show that the Dodge brand had an improvement of 8% in the brand’s initial quality score compared to last year’s study. The Dodge brand was also placed in the industry’s top-10 at 8th overall. This marks the brand’s highest ranking ever in the awards.

The Dodge brand scored high with its Dodge Challenger and Dodge Grand Caravan models. But the Dodge brand wasn’t the only brand to achieve acclaim in the awards. The Jeep® Grand Cherokee also scored high in the midsize SUV segment.

“Dodge continues its leadership position among Midsize Sporty Cars and Minivans by taking first and second place with the Challenger and Grand Caravan, respectively,” said Mark Champine, Head of Quality – FCA North America.

  • Dodge Challenger – No. 1 in Midsize Sporty Car segment
  • Dodge Grand Caravan – No. 2 in Minivan segment
  • Jeep® Grand Cherokee – No. 3 in Midsize SUV segment (three-way tie)

“We’re especially proud of the Grand Cherokee’s 20 percent year-over-year improvement in initial quality, which was strong enough to put it in the top three among Midsize SUVs,” Champine added. “This type of quality improvement reinforces our commitment to Grand Cherokee, the most awarded SUV ever and to our recently announced $900 million investment at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit, the home of Grand Cherokee.”

J.D. Power measures initial quality by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100) during the first 90 days of ownership, with a lower score reflecting higher quality.

The 2019 U.S. Initial Quality Study is based on responses from 76,256 purchasers and lessees of new 2019 model-year vehicles who were surveyed after 90 days of ownership. The study is based on a 233-question battery organized into eight vehicle categories. The study was fielded from February through May 2019.

Truck Thursday: See the road ahead with the 2020 Jeep® Gladiator’s forward-facing camera

2020 Jeep® Gladiator Rubicon

The all-new 2020 Jeep® Gladiator was designed to tackle any obstacle, but occasionally there will be a large rock, log or possibly an unforeseen dropoff that can’t be seen over the hood.

To assist off-roaders with situational awareness of these pathway obstructions, the Gladiator’s designers added an innovative forward-facing camera in the middle slot of the midsize truck’s seven-slot grille.

With a push of a button on the Uconnect Off-road pages, the camera is activated with images streamed right to the radio screen.

“The inspiration for the forward-facing camera was our customer, the Jeep enthusiast,” said Pete Milosavlevski, Gladiator chief engineer, who added that feedback for this camera came from riding with customers during off-road excursions. “We wanted to provide another innovative tool for the Jeep enthusiast to use and have a great time while they are off-roading.”

The forward-facing camera, which is exclusive to the Rubicon model, is one of more than 80 available advanced safety and security features available on the Gladiator.

When activated, the off-road camera can detect obstacles less than two feet in front of the bumper and as far out as 10 feet in front of the Gladiator. The camera not only provides a view of the road ahead, but also dynamic gridlines to help navigate oncoming obstacles.

Designers also paid attention to the little details when it came to the camera. Since it is an off-road camera, it’s bound to get dusty. When drivers want to remove the dust, and stay in the comfort of the Gladiator, there’s a camera washer that can be activated from the radio screen.

Truck Tuesday: 2020 Ram 1500 America’s Half-Ton Diesel Torque Leader

The 2020 Ram 1500 will soon become America’s most powerful half-ton diesel pickup with the introduction of the third-generation turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6.

480 lb.-ft.of torque and the highest available half-ton diesel towing capacity at 12,560 pounds really set the Ram 1500 apart from the competition. Coupled with the record 1,000 lb.-ft.of torque achieved by the new Ram Heavy Duty, Ram pickups now own the top spots in torque ratings.

The 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel will be available on all models and configurations, including a first-time offering for the Ram Rebel. It goes on sale in the fourth quarter of this year.

Mauro Puglia, Diesel Engine Chief Engineer, FCA North America, goes behind the numbers for a closer look at how this new EcoDiesel engine benchmark was achieved.

Ram Trucks in 2019: A Lineup for the Ages and an Eye on What’s Next

From the All-New 2019 Ram 1500 to the Ram 1500 Classic to Ram Heavy Duty and Chassis Cab, our current lineup of trucks is without a doubt the best I’ve ever seen.

As Vice President of U.S. Sales Operations, Fleet and Small Business, FCA US LLC, I’m biased of course. But after 34 years in the automotive business, I also know trucks. And so does my team. We know what makes a good one. We know capability and performance are paramount to fleet managers and business owners alike, that residual value and total cost of ownership are as well. We know the 2019 Ram lineup excels in these categories and more.

Not only do we know trucks, we’re not afraid to give a nod to the competition, when it’s deserved, or credit to our colleagues when they’ve earned it. In this case, the nod goes to our FCA associates who worked tirelessly developing a Chassis Cab with best-in-class horsepower* (Ram 3500), a Heavy Duty truck with best-in-class diesel towing (Ram 2500), a Light Duty pickup with best-in-class available V8 towing (All-New Ram 1500). And the list goes on.

We know it’s not just us taking notice. From articles like this one hailing the Ram 1500 as THE truck to buy in 2019 to multiple Truck of the Year awards from highly respected organizations, Ram Trucks is getting the media and industry attention it deserves.

That said, we are not a company that will rest on its laurels. As much as we believe in our current lineup, we are constantly seeking out opportunities to better serve our customers. For example, while the industry as a whole has struggled in recent years to meet increasing commercial demand, we recognized and addressed the issue early on, implementing a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar plan to ramp up production at plants in Michigan and beyond, well before the competition. We see it as an investment in our future and our communities. It’s also a doubling down on our commitment to provide great vehicles in a timely manner to our customers, who deserve – and will get – the best we have to offer.
